More warm sunshine but change approaching for next week.

So a fairly robust area of high pressure is building over the UK, but some very large and powerful low pressure systems to the west are equally trying to push it out of the way. For now, high pressure wins, low pressure goes over the top.

Today is a hazy sunshine type of day, quite a lot of high cloud at times, a bit of fair-weather cloud too – and plenty of bright, hazy sunshine. Warm, 22’C. Clear skies overnight though fog will form in places overnight. Down to around 11’C.

Some mist/fog/low cloud around to start Friday – not everywhere but a fairly good chance. Sunshine will come out, if it wasn’t out already to bring long spells of sunshine, though gradually cloud will thicken during the afternoon as a weak weather front approaches from the north-west – likely remains bright though. Warm, verging very warm – up to around 24’C. The weak weather front brings cloudier skies in the evening and the first part of the night, maybe a little patchy light rain, then clearer skies to end the night – and fresher air following, down to around 9’C once the cloud clears.

Saturday remains reasonably sunny – quite a bit of high cloud around making it hazy at times but otherwise pleasant. Temperatures a bit fresher, around 20’C. Mostly clear skies overnight, down to around 10’C.

Sunday sees weather fronts trying to push in, more likely we’ll just about hang onto the fine weather during the day, sunny spells though increasingly hazy at the day goes on – a chance of a shower though. Warmer, around 23’C and becoming breezy. More likely, the weather front then brings some showery rain in the evening/overnight – though timing and amounts uncertain, plausible it arrives during the day instead, or not until early Monday – there could be a reasonable amount of rain involved, or very little.

Probably by Monday morning the weather front has cleared, though a chance it is still hanging around with some cloud rain. Broadly once it clears then we are looking at hazy sunshine again, and around 21’C.

By Tuesday, we see low pressure systems having developed further south-west than of late – driving warmer air up from the south, but also starting to influence our weather.

Uncertain on some details for Tuesday, probably at least some cloud, a chance of showers, becoming windy but also probably very warm and humid – between 22’C and 27’C more likely, though some uncertainty. Mild, if not quite warm overnight.

Again uncertain on details for Wednesday but quite likely there will at least be some heavy showers, perhaps thundery, perhaps general showery rain. Not impossible it is dry and sunny-ish instead. But also probably very warm, anywhere between 21’C and 28’C plausible, humid and breezy too. Fairly warm overnight, if not unusually warm for the time of year.

Probably still at least quite warm later next week, heavy showers or rain at times – but also some sunny spells. Mild nights likely.

That’s about as far as I can go on details at the moment.

The next forecast will probably be on Monday morning, as I’m finally going on holiday again (been a while!) – Montenegro and Croatia this time, and the weather is looking glorious for me. One last taste of summer before I start accepting our autumnal destiny.
