Warming up somewhat and lots more sunshine. Happy days!
Thanks to Marilyn for the photograph, first time sending me one – much appreciated.
The general picture sees high pressure over the UK and stretching over Iceland and towards Greenland – now orientating to a more south-easterly flow so we’ve lost the cool source.

Early mist/fog/cloud cloud will lift fairly quickly during the morning to leave long spells of sunshine. Feeling warmer, around 19’C. Clear spells for much of the night but mist/fog/low cloud may develop towards dawn – a chilly night and down to around 3’C.
Friday sees any mist/fog/low cloud lifting quickly (it may not have formed in your area) to leave long spells of sunshine all day. Warm, we should just about reach 20’C, or close to. Another chilly night, down to around 2’C – again mist/fog/low cloud may form towards dawn.
Saturday again may see some mist/fog/low cloud to start but that will lift fairly quickly into long spells of sunshine all day. Some high cloud around to make the sunshine hazier at times, but warm, 20’C, maybe 21’C. Clear spells for much of the night – some cloud again possible by dawn, around 5’C.
Sunday looks another pleasant day, good spells of sunshine, some cloud around at times and temperatures a little lower at around 18’C. Some cloud around overnight, down to around 6’C.
By Monday we still have high pressure around – warmer in western Europe, colder in eastern Europe.

Monday will then be another pleasant day, plenty of sunshine likely with some cloud around. A bit of uncertainty on temperatures – could be anywhere between 16’C and 20’C.
Some uncertainty after this on where high pressure will be, and I’d suggest there’s around a 50% chance that we end up with an easterly flow, bringing somewhat cooler and perhaps cloudier conditions – with the other 50% chance being that high pressure stays roughly where it is, with plenty more sunshine and temperatures remain somewhere in the 16’C to 21’C range.
Or we may vary between the two conditions, as we are doing this week.
Either way, dry conditions are almost certain for the rest of next week – probably even into the bank holiday weekend, though that’s too far away to use words like “certain”.
So in vague terms for the bank holiday weekend – dry weather is more likely than wet weather, warm weather is somewhat more likely than average/cool conditions, sunshine is somewhat more likely than cloud. Again there could easily be some kind of mix of conditions from those vague probabilities.
Perhaps something more changeable/showery by around 7th/10th May onwards through the middle of May.
Have a pleasant end of the week, and enjoy the sunshine.
